Getting to Know You with Romance Author Heather Thurmeier

Today I’m having some fun with author Heather Thurmeier. We both wanted to get to know each other by asking a few fun questions, so we decided to do a blog swap. I have no idea if that’s an official title of what we’re doing, but hey it sounds fun. Once you have fun learning about Heather, pop on over to her blog and see my answers to the same questions. To make it more fun, ask your own “getting to know you” question or answer some of our questions in the comments.

If you woke up tomorrow as an animal, what animal would you choose to be and why?

A. I would be a horse. I have always loved horses. They are so fast and powerful and beautiful. Sounds pretty amazing to me.

What item, that you don’t have already, would you most like to own?

A.  A private plane. You didn’t say it had to be an actually possibility, right? I love traveling, but I’m enjoying flying less and less. I think a private jet could make me fall in love with flying all over again. I could really get used to big cushy seats, having a pilot on stand-by and never having a line up for the bathroom. Now if only I has a spare few million dollars lying around to actually buy one. LOL.

What was the best day of your life and why?

A.  Tough question. I would have to say the day I met my husband because that one day changed the course of the rest of my life. It’s because of my husband that I have my two amazing children, because of him I have an awesome life in the States, and because of him that I’m living my happily ever after each day.

What’s your favorite romantic comedy and why?

A. For movies, I really like Music & Lyrics, Crazy, Stupid, Love and 40 Year-Old Virgin. For books, I really like Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James and the first few Shopaholic books by Sophie Kinsella.

What’s your ideal activity on a rainy day? Sunny day?

A.  On rainy days I love to stay home and watch movies, play video games, bake and eat snacks with my kids. On sunny days, I love to go to our community pool with the kids.

If you could live in any time period–past, present, or future—which would you choose and why?

A.  I would definitely pick the future! I already know what has happened in the past and I’ve been in the present my whole life. But the future could be anything and I’d love to find out what! I’d love to see what the world is like in 100 years or even 200 years. Of course civilization my have collapsed by then, but at least it would be exciting! LOL.

What’s the one place you’d most like to visit someday?

A.  I’d love to go to Ireland and Scotland. They’ve always been on my to-visit list. It would be a dream come true to visit one day!

Are you a dog or cat person? Or other?

A.  I’m a dog and a cat person. I like both equally. Currently I have a dog and my kids won’t stop bugging me for a cat, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we give in and get one some day soon. I don’t really care for other pets like fish, birds, rodents, or reptiles.

What is your favorite genre to read?

A.  I have an eclectic mix of genres I enjoy reading—romance, of course (paranormal and contemporary), urban fantasy, YA, and dystopian. Although nothing too scary or dark. I don’t like to fall asleep while being scared or emotionally disturbed!

What are you most afraid of?

A.  Spiders. It’s silly, I know. But I can’t help it. It’s a genuine phobia for me. They’re hairy, they have way too many legs, and they crawl really creepily. Ick.

Thank you so much for having me on your blog today! I’m happy to answer any other questions you may have. Just leave me a question a comment!

Here’s more information about Heather and her current release, Falling for You.

Falling for You Blurb:

Newly single Cassidy Quinn is thrilled to be a contestant on the new reality dating show The One. But her excitement turns to horror when the gorgeous bachelor turns out to be her ex-boyfriend. Seeing Brad again makes Cassidy realize she might not be as “over him” as she thought—and then she meets hunky cameraman Evan Burke.

After watching his brother lose his wife in a tragic accident, Evan vows never to fall in love. But following Cassidy around as her personal cameraman makes him question his decision, and resisting her gets harder with every sunbathing, bikini-wearing day.

Cassidy and Evan begin a forbidden affair while her ex-boyfriend tries to win her heart back one groping, awkward moment at a time. If Cassidy can manage to stop falling off horses (literally), stop falling onto her ex-boyfriend, the bachelor (yes, literally), and stop falling in love with backstage playboy Evan, she might still make it through the show without becoming a tabloid sensation.

But soon Cassidy must choose between the ex who broke her heart and the cameraman who might never love her back. For Cassidy, this reality show just got real.
